A Little Bit About Me

If you're like me and enjoy spending time in your own company, then you're in the right place.

My name is Regan and I'm currently a third year Marketing and Hospitality & Tourism Management student at the University of Strathclyde.

Since moving to Glasgow in 2022, I've spent many a weekend exploring the city's key attractions, from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum to the University of Glasgow's infamous Harry Potter-esque university campus.

I love finding hidden gems in the city that I can enjoy on my own. For instance my latest find, The Grosvenor Film Theatre; Glasgow's oldest cinema in the quaint setting of Ashton Lane, which showcases independent (as well as mainstream) films in their 2 vintage cinema screening rooms.

With my blog, Gallivant Glasgow, I hope to bring to light some of my favourite solo-activities to do in Glasgow, rain or shine! From Glasgow's ever evolving Mural Walk, to shopping on Buchanan Street, there are a range of activities and attractions for all fellow extroverted-introverts to enjoy!

The Grosvenor Picture Theatre Glasgow: Step Back in Time through Film

Calling all film lovers! I’ve found a hidden gem in Glasgow’s West end for you to enjoy your next solo cinema date! Located in Ashton Lane, The Grosvenor Picture Theatre offers a unique experience for film fanatics. As Glasgow’s oldest cinema, The Grosvenor transports you back in time with its dimly lit cinema rooms featuring burgundy leather seats and art deco side lamps. Compared to cinemas like Cineworld or VUE, The Grosvenor certainly wins the competition for best cinema experience. I first discovered The Grosvenor last Summer when strolling down Ashton Lane. Brunch Spots in Glasgow: Indulge in Merchant City's Best Cafés

Going for brunch at the weekend after a busy week is one of my favourite activities, especially in Glasgow. Merchant City is definitely the place to go, full of cafés offering some of the best brunch plates I've ever had! I’ve made a wee list of some amazing cafés you can visit if you haven't already. The University of Glasgow's campus: Explore Stunning Gothic Architecture

Now that the leaves are changing from the greens and yellows of Summer, to the burnt oranges and browns of Autumn, why not explore the stunning gothic architecture of Glasgow University's Campus on a crisp Autumn day? The architecture of the old university buildings certainly gives off a Harry Potter vibe, with its spires and cloisters. However, you’ll be surprised to know that Harry Potter was never actually filmed in any of the campus locations! During the Christmas period, the cloisters within the building are wrapped with fairy lights, creating the most magical setting, especially at night time.
